I saw The Long Winters at the Showbox Downtown on Saturday. They were totally fucking awesome! If you haven't heard them, check them out. I also recommend checking out the band Boat, who was one of the openers.

Regarding fireworks - The older I get, more and more people become fucking pussies when it comes to lighting off, or being around fireworks. "Ooo, they're too loud!" or "Oh, my house is going to burn down" or "Ouch, my pussy hurts because I have so much god damned sand in my vagina" - Fuck off, pussies. Nobody's going to blow up, your house is going to be fine, and stop putting sand in your vagina. Don't do stupid shit like light bottle rockets off down you pants, in your eye, or near the rest of your arsenal and I think everything will be quite all right... (Pussies)
